HDMI and DVI CableWith the advancement of so many electronical devices in the last decade, the need for proper cables has arose. There are countless cables out on the open market today designed for different features and different settings to enhance someone´s electronical experience. A couple of high demand cables include the HDMI cable and the DVI cable. These two cables are pretty similar but have a few key differences.First lets talk about the DVI cable which stands for digital visual interface. Mobile network operators are looking towards fourth generation (4G) technology to increase mobile usage in a way 3G technology has failed to do.

4G technology is currently in development with many network operators around the world with Japan’s NTT DoCoMo and Samsung testing 4G communications at 100 Mbit/s whilst moving and 1 Gbit/s whilst stationary. NTT DoCoMo plans to release the first 4G commercial mobile network by 2010, and Samsung is aiming to have the network operational on Jeju Island in South Korea by 2010. 4G technology would offer a large step increase in data download and upload speeds, opening up an era of high-speed media access onto mobile phones similar to broadband internet access on home PCs. At the highest download speed, users can download a movie in 5.6 seconds and send 100 songs in 2.4 seconds according to Samsung.

Mobile operators are keen to expand the revenue generated from videos, photos and Internet access to make up for lack lustre voice call revenue. The expenditure on 3G networks has not been as successful in generating extra revenue as hoped, and mobile networks are now looking towards 4G technology to provide the exponential change they are looking for. The spectrum for 4G will be allocated at a global conference in October next year and commercial launch is scheduled for 2010 after standard setting.

Search engines have been around for almost as long as computers have been able to store large amounts of data. From their first days when they were sifting through large local archives, to their current ability to sift through the entire internet in seconds, search engines have shaped our computer using habits. Search engines and their popularity have many different implications for both the home user and for internet commerce in general. Here, I will discuss the search engine’s effect on both of these areas.

Google LogoFor the average person, the most noticeable change from search engines has been on regular browsing habits. If you began using the internet after the modern conveniences were invented, then it may be hard for you to imagine what it was like before search engines abounded. If you wanted to find a site, you had to know the exact address, and punch it in correctly. If you want to do research on trees, the internet might not be the best place to go unless you know of any good tree sites. But now, that has all changed. To do research on trees, you can jump on your favorite search engine and immediately get hundreds of thousands of results. Where the internet used to be a tangled web, it is now sorted and organized to achieve the best results for the user. Read the rest of this entry »

Web HostingYou can have the greatest store on the planet offering the best products for the best prices, but if no one travels down the road on which your store is located, your business will fail due to lack of customers. The same holds true with an internet business. Regardless of the quality of your site, you will need a web hosting solution to get you noticed on the information highway.

Numerous websites are built from the ground up and those new to the internet often forget a few basics such as the importance of meta tags and their relevance to the page on which they are attached. Many web hosting solution companies will advise that the tags, which are hidden from view but imbedded in the page`s code, are the first glimpse a search engine has as to the relevance of your site to the information requested in a search.

Data RecoveryThere is no denying the fact that every computer user will eventually experience the nightmares of hard drive failure. Much as we try to prevent hard drive failure in our computers, we cannot prevent the intrusion of viruses or other system intruders. These bugs can often cause our computers to crash.

The sad truth about hard drive crashes is that most of the time, we end up losing several important files that we have accumulated over time. Although some people may be lucky to have that hindsight of creating back up for their files, there are those who never bother to secure another copy of their files. Worst, those who do not bother to back-up their files often store very important data is just one place that when their computer actually breaks down, they are completely at the lost as to where and how to recover their life’s work.

The World Bank and the Stockholm Development Institute (SDI) has raised concerns over the worsening state of air pollution in Asia. It has been reported that pollution in the region has been worsening over the past decades, causing the deaths of thousands in the cities of Beijing, Jakarta, Seoul, Bangkok and Manila. Research shows that emissions from the Asian continent has exceeded their neighbors from Europe and North America.

The SDI also revealed an alarming increase of dangerous chemicals in the air such as sulphur dioxide, ammonia and nitrogen oxides. Scientific studies show that the chemicals greatly contribute to the spread of pulmonary diseases like pneumonia and bronchitis. Aside from this, they also discovered a significant increase in ground level ozone concentration.

Meanwhile, the World Bank has rang bells over the growing mortality rates caused by air pollution. In Manila, air pollution kills over 4,000 Filipinos each year. This is already considered the third highest mortality rate for an East Asian country.
