Studio Hybrid

Dell Studio HybridIt’s hard for us to recommend the Dell Studio Hybrid desktop for any practical purpose. As a desktop for productivity, you can get more bang-for-your-buck from a typical budget-priced midtower PC. And if your goal is either space-saving or using this system as a media PC, we’d instead point you to a similarly priced laptop, which has an integrated display, will perform most of the same functions, and is also portable. Still, we imagine that for some of you, the Studio Hybrid’s unique design holds plenty of appeal. Compared with other desktops in its small-scale cohort, Dell’s entry is actually one of the best equipped. If aesthetics are your chief concern, the Studio Hybrid will reward you with its good looks and respectable computing power.

If the Catholic bishops can be as passionate in fighting corruption as they are in opposing birth control, this predominantly Roman Catholic country will be a much better place. Think of the impact of an announcement from the Church that it will withhold Holy Communion from all the liars, cheats, thieves, murderers, rapists and the immoderately greedy in this government. Okay, that might decimate the ranks of the national leadership, and reduce the temporal power that the bishops love to wield in this country. But it could endear the bishops to more of the ordinary faithful Catholics who do not make a big show or pretense of piousness to earn brownie points with the Church. Instead the bishops are withholding communion from politicians who are supporting birth control and family planning, branding theme as “anti-life” and supporters of abortion. The Church must be taking pointers in intellectual dishonesty from this administration. Read the rest of this entry »

The War Against Aging

We see the phenomenon on television, in magazines, in the movies, in the workplace and in almost every aspect of life, most particularly in our social lives.

Almost everyone wants to grow old gracefully, as the saying goes, but there’s certainly no harm in looking younger, fresher and healthier as the years pass by. Wrinkles, crow’s feet, saggy skin, sun spots, hyper pigmentation, etc. are inevitably what all women and yes, even a growing number of men nowadays, fear the most. There may be no way to stop what’s to come, but there are true, tried and tested ways to slow down the aging process.

People today fight the symptoms of aging by first understanding what contributes to an aged appearance. Prevention is essentially the key and through media and information technology, people have been starting as early as in their twenties in getting serious about taking good care of their skin and bodies. Nothing happens without sacrifice and hard work, and to fight the war against aging, one has to be patient, resourceful and most of all committed to a regimen that suits the individual.

Although it has been known for a while that compounds in plants contain antioxidant properties capable of protecting us from coronary conditions and cancer, it is only now becoming known just how extensive this ability may be.

Phytonutrients are an amazing discovery; fund in plants they have the ability to work with our body to improve its defense against disease and illness. More than 900 different phytonutrients have been found in plant foods already; huge advances in preventative health care and nutrition are advancing at an almost daily rate. There has been a huge number of health benefits discovered so far from many well known foods; the anti-aging power of blueberries and the effect that cherries have on reducing joint pain, are just two of the benefits found so far. Remembering Ninoy…

In the quarter century since Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. was fatally shot on the tarmac of then Manila International Airport, almost every conceivable aspect has been written about his life, death and aftermath - good, bad, political, controversial, biased, investigatory- you name it. No conceivable angle could possible be new.

Notwithstanding, Enrich would be remiss if it did not honor Ninoy’s memory on the historical eve of his 25th death Anniversary this August 21, 2008. Plain and simple, Ninoy gave up seven otherwise quality years in the prime of his life, imprisoned in Manila in the ‘70s because he would not budge in iota on his convictions. In the end he made the ultimate sacrifice - in lieu of a peaceful and comfortable living on fellowship grants from two of America’s most prestigious universities, not to mention open-ended sanctuary in the United States, if he would have so chosen.

Throughout his three years in “self-exile” on American soil, Ninoy constantly insisted he would repatriate himself to his beloved Philippines. When warned of certain imprisonment or death if he did, Ninoy countered, “if it’s my fate to die by an assasin’s bullet, so be it”. Read the rest of this entry »

There are hundreds of books and websites devoted to helping businesses get their web sites on the first page of the search engine’s results page. But what can you believe? When it comes to search engine optimization, Denver businesses know that it’s not about how much you know, but rather taking smaller steps that will generate almost immediate results. You don’t have to be the biggest web site on the internet to get to the top - here’s what you can do now.

For starters, you should recognize the importance of being on the first page of a search engine result listing. While it’s true that some people will go to the second results page, this is generally not the case. When someone has typed in their search term and gotten results, they’re going to choose someone from the first page. So, if you’re not there, you’re not going to get higher traffic numbers. To increase your search engine optimization, Denver businesses should follow these three tips: Read the rest of this entry »

It is simply amazing how many people get online, and head over to their favorite search engine, and type in ‘make money online’, and start looking over the results. The result is always the same; they run into thousands of ‘too good to be true’ ways to make money, then splash down some cash on the best looking scheme, and before long, they are back searching for the ‘real’ make money online system.

Don’t get me wrong: sometimes, people actually do luck out and start to make money online after finding something that looked good. It’s just that most people go through a mountain of opportunities and schemes, before either giving up, or finally seeking out someone who IS making money online and living on every word their ‘guru’ speaks.

Sadly, many of the gurus have a business plan, to sell useful but incomplete solutions, with the aim to upsell more expensive stuff later, so they can continue to earn an income from their customers for years to come.

So what is a person supposed to do?
